Two Weeks in Michigan

June 23, 2018

We spent a couple of weeks in Michigan earlier in June, partially to visit family and celebrate the girls’ graduation, and partly to explore both the lower and upper peninsulas. I’m attaching some links here – note each link has multiple pictures, just swipe left or right to move back and forth

Pomp and Circumstance

June 10, 2018

Emily and Elisabeth have graduated cum laude from Northview High School in Johns Creek.  We had a small graduation party for them at their aunt’s house in Michigan.  Rain was not our friend on both days, but we still had a good time and will certainly remember both down the road.  Next up is college in August – Emily at Piedmont College and Elisabeth at Georgia State University!

Cruisin’

May 4, 2018

We took a Caribbean cruise over Spring Break, leaving from Tampa with stops in Key West, Roatan (Honduras), Saint Tomas de Castilla (Guatamala), and Costa Maya (Mexico).  Here’s a video summary (with thanks to Elisabeth for some video editing):

Our New House!

December 14, 2017

It’s been a little over a month since we moved into our new house, just about 2 miles from our old place. We’re still settling in, but it now feels like home. Here’s a time-lapse of the construction, which took about 5 months .

Atlanta United FC

October 4, 2017

For Emily’s and Elisabeth’s 18th birthday, we took in an Atlanta United FC game at Mercedes Benz Stadium.  Even though they lost, it was still a great time – the stadium itself is really impressive! You can find some pictures and a video here.

Zoo Atlanta, September 5, 2017

We wanted to sneak in one last ‘field trip’ before summer slips away, so we went to Zoo Atlanta today. You can find my pictures here, and here is a short video with highlights:

Lou Martilotta, 1924 – 2017

tags: , ,

My father, ‘Big Lou’ Martilotta, has passed away after battling congestive heart failure over the last year.  He died on the 65th anniversary of his wedding to my mom Lucille Martilotta, just 3 days after his 93rd birthday.  Dad had been healthy up until just the last 12 months or so, driving his car and living on his own as recently as last year.  He had a great funeral over this past weekend, with many of his former students turning out to pay their respects, and to share fond memories. You can read his obituary here. He will be missed!
