Biking on the 4th

July 4, 2014

I had a chance to take my bike out on the newly-opened section of the Rockdale River Trail southeast of Atlanta on the 4th of July. 29 miles later, I was tired (lots of elevation changes) but thrilled with the experience on this wonderful trail. I started in Lithonia in South DeKalb County, and rode to the trail’s end at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA. Over the course of the day, I saw in no particular order, birds, rabbits, dragonflies, horses, butterflies, frogs, a lizard, and even a raccoon. Here are some pictures; you can click on them to embiggen.
